Peach Room
At Baker Street Nursery and Pre-school, we recognise and value all of the learning and development that takes place within the first two years of your child’s life. This is a vital period where children create the foundations of who they are as an individual. Our neutral environment ensures that your child is able to concentrate and focus on the areas that really matter: their play.
Staff are extensively trained to inspire your child to confidently interact with their environment and peers, while continuing to learn about themselves. Within this room, your child’s independence will be supported to ensure that they transition smoothly and confidently onto the next chapter of their life.
Purple Room
Within our Toddler Room, we endeavour to support and encourage your child as they reach critical milestones within their learning and development. We understand that the Toddler period of your child’s life can be a challenge; they are beginning to learn about their own personalities while simultaneously trying to understand rules and boundaries. Our Toddler Room is therefore carefully sculpted to ensure that your child can independently explore their interests, whilst being sensitively supported by staff. At Baker Street Nursery, we value play in all its forms and understand that Toddlers must freely access a wide range of activities to ensure that the foundations of their learning are solidified.
Blue Room
At Baker Street Nursery and Pre-school, we have a fully developed School Readiness programme where activities are carefully designed to expose children to the skills required on their transition into school. We understand that developing specific physical, emotional and social skills within pre-school, enables teachers to successfully support further developments within school.
Within our Pre-school, your child’s thoughts and ideas are key to all that occurs; we value every child’s voice and ensure that this is reflected within the environment. At Baker Street Nursery and Pre-school, we encourage critical and independent thought to fully support your child as they grow into confident and successful members of society.
Front and Side Gardens
At Baker Street Nursery and Preschool, we benefit from 2 outdoor spaces which means that the children have different areas to explore throughout their day with us. The front garden is used primarily for our gross motor skills activities, offering the children the opportunity to skilfully move around our track on bikes, trikes and scooters. Our preschool are able to use this space directly from their room, utilising ‘free flow’ play where children can move seamlessly between in the indoor and outdoor spaces. Clear communication between rooms mean that the other rooms can also benefit from this space when preschool are not accessing it. Our side garden offers more of an outdoor classroom experience for the children. Having been recently renovated, the side garden benefits from permanent water trays, a sand pit, a mud kitchen and chalk boards. This space is expertly set up by staff before the children access it, with staff taking advantage of a range of outdoor resources. This garden also has easily accessible storage that the children can select the resources that they would like to play with during their garden time. Outdoor play is so important for little ones and so staff endeavour to take children outside in all winds and weathers!
